Punch lists
The whole list in one visit. The sticking door, the dead outlet, the towel bar, the shelf for the garage.
Electrical and plumbing
Light fixtures and switches, the leaking trap under the sink. The minor work that keeps getting put off.
Carpentry and tile
Doors that shut right, trim, shelving, tile set and grouted.
Appliance installation
Dishwasher, range, washer and dryer, hooked up and leveled.
A list like this
Hi, I’m John.
It started on days off, fixing things for friends and family, until the calls outgrew the weekends. That was ten years ago, and word of mouth has carried it ever since.
The longer story
We called John to replace a deck board, reseal the garage and seal a soffit. He did all three — then replaced a deck stair, fixed three doors that were sticking, and worked out a plan to install a calcite filter for us. John’s the best.
Honest about the price
An estimate up front. If the job grows once I’m in it, you hear it right away, not on the bill.
Easy to have in the house
The compliment I get most, after ten years of customers letting me into their homes.
Tidy when I leave
Drop cloths down while I work, and the mess leaves with me.
Fair questions
- What’s your hourly rate?
- The minimum is $200 and it covers up to two hours. After that it’s $75 an hour.
- Is my job too small?
- Small jobs are the business. One item still runs the $200 minimum, so it’s worth saving a few up and having me take the whole list in one visit.
- When can you come out?
- By appointment, and I’m flexible. Call and we’ll sort out a time.
- How do I pay?
- Cash, check, or Venmo, whichever’s easiest for you.
